My concern was that due to the explosion of the personal blogs and web pages, the freelancing sites will experience lower traffic. As you will see in the image below I was wrong. For this image I’ve used 5 of the most popular freelancing sites: Guru.com, Elance.com, GetAFreelancer.com, RentACoder.com and ScriptLance.com

So, with the help of Compete I did a comparison between this 5 freelancing web sites and here are the results:

As you can see in the timeline, all sites are going well. In just one year the number of people has doubled in the worst case: Guru and multiplied by 4.6 in the case of GetAFreelancer.
So it looks like the clients are getting used with the freelance approach instead of using well established companies for different tasks. Kudos for these sites.
