Graphic Rating Awards 2008 – The Winners
Due to food specialties and the period of the year, the results of Gratings 2008 were delayed. In this case we will start immediately to announce the big winners of the 1st Annual Graphic Rating Awards. As you know this year there were only 3 categories: Best Redesign, Worst Redesign and Vaporware.
Best Redesign 2008
This category had many names involved because 2008 was the year of redesigns. From big redesigns like AOL and Techcrunch to small redesigns like our Graphic Rating, all sites were improved visually and also from the user experience perspective. So who do you think was the best redesign of 2008? Well it seems like the biggest impact was made by simple redesign with minimal graphics and great user experience. So, this year, the Gratings 2008 – Best Redesign Award goes to – Delicious.
winner: Delicious
Worst Redesign 2008
Compared to the other redesign category, this one had fewer choices. That was because there weren’t too many terrible redesigns. Still, the worst redesign comes from one of the most important companies in the IT industry. Sadly, this year, the Gratings 2008 – Worst Redesign Award goes to – HP for their new logo.
winner: HP
Vaporware 2008
To predict this category winner was simple, although the second place was pretty close. It is clear that every web developer and web designer wants this as soon as possible. Yes, the Gratings 2008 – Vaporware Award goes to CSS 3.
winner: CSS 3
Conclusion
As you can see, all are big names and entities. Every move is watched. So next year pay attention to any redesign or change because we will too, and we are tough judges. Cheers and happy holidays!
