Gratings 2008 – Best Redesign
Here is the 3rd and last category form this year’s Gratings. This is the category were you want to be – best redesign. Your presence in this category will emphasize your effort in presenting your business in the best visual way. Let’s start and see what companies have good redesigns.
1. Last.fm
This is one good redesign. The guys from Last.fm decided that the new look of the site should be simple and clean. A very good decision and a very good implementation.
2. Zune.net
Although Zune was never seen as that serious competitor against iPod, their site is a real leader. The first one was nice and interesting with a dark color scheme. The new one is one of the best designs in terms of spacing and minimal design. Kudos!
3. Techcrunch
It was probably one of the most unexpected but wanted redesigns in the last years. Everyone wanted a good looking Techcrunch and this year that wish came true. Having fresh web news is a good thing, but displaying them in fresh new design is much better.
4. Delicious
What can I say? It is simply delicious. The design was created with the next guide in mind: less is more. And the team behind the design succeeded. No extra graphic for saving a link, no animations or fancy CSS & Javascript approaches.
5. Facebook
From my point of view Facebook is the best looking social network. It is almost flawless. The user interface is well design with nice spacing and good typography. The redesigned profile and homepage were catchy redesigns but at the same time very useful from the user experience perspective.
Which one is the best redesign of 2008?
Judge and vote!
