I love the new Opera 10
This is an awesome release. Really! The new Opera has my most wanted feature: spell check. Beside all other improvements this new release is an awesome tool for bloggers. I’m pretty excited because the blogosphere is a powerful environment and Opera should try to enter in this segment. Let’s see what are the new improvements of Opera 10
New Presto 2.2 Engine
With this new engine, Opera scores a flawless 100/100 in Acid 3 test. For those of you unaware of Acid test – it is the browser test. This is one of the guidelines for browsers performance – scoring a good value in latest Acid test. So you can imagine that achieving the perfect score is a pretty big deal.
Improved Developer Toolbar
Opera Dragonfly is the alternative to Firebug and it seems like now it is also an alternative to YSlow. That means that the new Opera is much closer to the development domain with the main 2 features added in this new release are:
Network tab: this is not feature-complete yet, but it is a first step towards allowing you to inspect HTTP traffic to and from your client instance—very useful for debugging Ajax applications.
DOM editing: One of the key new features of Opera Dragonfly alpha 3 is DOM editing support.
Inline Spelling Checker
This is why I love the new Opera. Now I can write posts on this blog using Opera. This is a huge addon for this release because Opera will gain new bloggers as daily users. And that is good because Opera can be promoted even more by the blogosphere.
Other Improvements
These were not the only improvements to Opera 10. You can check the following link (Opera 10.0 Alpha 1 Features ) in order to see details about things like: Auto Update, Opera Mail Improvements and Widget Improvements on Linux/UNIX.
Conclusion:Hell, it’s about time. (about the spell checker)
